better than school..
i believe the general sentiment in the world is that watchin tv is a waste of time. at least, thats how i feel. really, wut do i productively derive from watchin tv? not much--i am simply a participant as entropy takes over the universe..
and so hypocritically speakin, i wish i would read more instead of watchin tv all the time. its basically on from when i get up to when im sick of it just before i fall asleep (okay, there are a few hrs in the day when i disgustedly turn off the tube--usually after i realize nothin can follow a good episode of law & order). and so this sentiment of mine translates into a feelin of guilt because i am neither expandin my mind in any productive way or goin to productively use wut ive gained from watchin the friends season finale. i simply enjoyed bein entertained and occupied..
but man, dont i wish i was the genius who created the discovery channel. it is seriously one awesome channel. whenever there is somethin even of mild interest on, i never fail to have a feelin of satisfaction--of time well spent--after havin spent the hour to watch their educational and entertainin program..
for instance, tonite i watched a two-hr show called the real eve on "human beings may have all evolved from just a few females" originatin in africa thanks to DNA reconstruction. has nothin to do w/ the biblical eve--just depicts how man came to populate every land on this planet..
it was a great show--very insightful and enormously captivatin. and the best part: i felt like i actually learned somethin--somethin i probly would never have even given thought to had the show never come on. so in essence, shows like that complete two requirements: 1) engagin my mind and 2) quashin my guilt w/ satisfaction..
man, discovery and tlc rock. if they ever ran a telethon like pbs does, id probly give em some money..

yeah, i always learn so much from watching the simpsons and conan o'brien.
julia loves to watch tlc. she could watch trading spaces all day. i prefer the iron chef

I like trading spaces, because Vern, the Asian designer, looks like Charles. And just like Chars, I'm not sure of his sexual preference.
