turnin back the clock..

jordan_45.jpg
heres why im stoopid. im watchin jordan drop bucket after bucket en route to a 45 pt game (and victory) and i make a gesture w/ my hand as if i re-settin the hands on a clock (see title). yes, he may almost be 40 but he can still put it up. and because hes not lightin it up as often--and because this season may be it--when he does its that much more special..

i think the wut amazes me the most is how much attention still gets. granted, in this particular game stackhouse and hughes were out so it had to be him. but even in previous games, opposin defenses seem to square down on him. maybe cuz hes really the only true playmaker on the team..

or maybe cuz hes the greatest player ever..

(course, mungmung would say 'the greatest PLAYAH ever. haha..)

- the shuttle tragedy today was terrible. but ill tell you, as sad as i am for the seven astronauts who lost their lives (and lost em so instantly) i almost feel the accident is an 'okay' thing. meanin, its like these things happen when ones pushin the envelope esp in exploration--like theyre almost necessary in order to advance further. and so wut is like a senseless event really isnt--cuz nasa will learn from it and will improve the technology which will help us push forward (or outward). but yeah, its just a horrible thing that sometimes these things cost lives..

two things more on the shuttle columbia: 1) like everyone else who can remember, i thought back to sittin in class in third-grade when in rolls a tv and we see the clip of the challenger explodin on take-off. i guess today is another one of those do-you-remember-where-you-were days; 2) an amazin statistic i heard by one of the experts was that it was determined a shuttle accident or mishap should happen once every 75 trips. todays trip was #113 in the existence of the shuttle program. so thats 2 in 113. or 1 in 57 (56.5). not good..

- im such a big window-shopper. i really cant remember the last time i bought somethin out of impulse. since movin to balt (which coincides w/ gettin married and ownin a house), ive pretty much only purchased things ive decided to get prior to leavin the house (the only exception is when i go grocery shoppin when starvin). but my behavior is so inane and appears to be a waste of time (at least to esther) cuz i go into stores w/ the mere intent of lookin at certain items. like ill go into gamestop or another computer game store and just scan the games out (which i already know), then immediately leave. i go into a sam goody (big ripoff prices) to gawk at the CDs and DVDs i want, then leave. am i not crazy?

- i genuinely have a fantasy problem now. since the nfl season is over, i wanted to keep my pigskin fix goin so this wk i started playin a game on sportingnews.com's called football strat-o-matic. its basically the same kind of game where you draft players for your team and keep track of their stats--the difference bein the games (and the players numbers) are all simulated. it is a fantasy game true to its name..

but it is bangin cuz your players actually play together on the same team in games against other members in your league. so theres an actual coachin aspect here cuz you play offensive and defensive coordinator in that you choose your base schemes (i.e. - 'west coast offense' or 'run-n-shoot' for offense, or 'standard zone 4-3' for D). its A LOTTA fun--in other words, im a hopeless fanaddict..

- thanks to my co-workers, ive been tryin out a new internet browser called opera. i actually like it a lot for three main reasons: 1) all separate windows (or opened pages) are contained w/in one main application window so you dont get all those extra buttons on the taskbar; 2) opera gives you more control over your browsin experience, the best example bein you can select the option of NOT allowin spam windows to pop-up in your face when you click on a link; 3) and the best reason is somethin called 'mouse gestures': when holdin down the right-mouse button and quickly movin the mouse left, you scroll back to your previous page. when holdin the button and movin right, you move forward in your history. makes browsin really quick and easy. so check it out..

- at work, ive been listenin to a lotta jazz as im tryin to up my culture-ness. its actually really nice to the ears and soothin to the brain as i program. and until i can truly appreciate the different artists, ill just be tunin into the radio..

- congratulations, kristin kreuk. you know youve made 'teen hottie' status when youre appearin in ads as the new spokeswoman for neutrogena's facial cleansin and make-up products. for career advice once superboy leaves for metropolis, talk to jennifer love and katie holmes..

ah, no football tomorr (pro-bowl dont count). hmm, maybe i should listen to nbc and check out arena football. yeah, haha..
