found these amusin tips in esquire under the title, how to be a deadbeat..
- "late fees at video-rental stores? restock the item on the shelf. when the late charge is applied later, insist you returned it on time and demand that they check the shelf. also works at libraries."
- "upgrade you dvd collection: rent the special-edition dvd, remove, and return with the standard dvd."

i used to borrow cd's from the library and burn copies ...until julia thought that was so low

My favorite part is where they then ask if you can make a copy of that cd for them...
