too damn human..

ive been pre-occupied lately w/ two main things:

1) gettin a car - i was initially deadset on purchasin a (an?) used maxima (2000 or 2003). but after a test drive and price comparison, i reasoned that a new 2004 altima would be the better buy. esp w/ the same 3.5 engine (v6) as the one in the maxima and a better financin deal. it drove well (of course) so now all that remains is thinkin over the matter and hagglin for the best deal. edmunds is a GREAT site, if youre lookin..

2) plannin our vacation - actually, its plannin our honeymoon. esthers next break is two weeks in sept and since seein punch drunk love (curiously appealin movie), weve been aimin for a trip to hawaii. as of now, we re headin to the big island (kona) cuz large crowds isnt our thang (oahu). but we dont wanna stay in some motel 6, esp since this will be our honeymoon and i really want esther to have a great time. although it may not necessarily MAKE the vacation, i feel the hotel room can certainly BREAK one if its downright nasty. so yeah, ive been lookin at some of the nicer ones ($$$)..

but man, as excitin as it is to plan a trip to clear waters or look around for new wheels, the damage to the wallet definitely is a weight on my mind. cuz in essence, both of these things we re lookin into are luxuries..

we dont absolutely NEED a second car--since we work at the same place, weve been gettin by on one thus far (although esthers schedule is very irregular). and a trip to the premiere location in the states?? i believe a drive down to ocean city would suffice. obviously, the money we would save could be diverted to more fruitful investments..

so then why are we gonna commit the irrational and buy a new car and visit hawaii?

cuz we re too damn human..
