saint louiee..

vern_and_me.JPG
id say hes lucky to be pictured w/ me..
so here i am in st louis, chillin w/ the villians. haha, jk--most may consider their in-laws as such but mine are really coo. who else would willingly provide smelly, stanky dried squid for their daughters husband to cook and devour?

- for those in-the-know, that is vern yip from trading spaces pictured on my right. he happened to be at this home show my bro-in-law was workin at. ive actually never seen the show, but esther luvs it. and two of my co-workers swear i am verns twin. so ha--visual evidence that i am indeed NOT..

- been mainly just hangin out, which has been great. good food, lotsa sleep, takin it easy day in and day out--just how vacation should be..

- i get a pretty big kick out of watchin esthers family interact for two reasons:

1) observin them "communicate" is hilarious. no smart remark ever goes unreciprocated. and every conversation--however benign--ends as a shoutin match. "can you get make a drink?" "get your OWN drink. why do i hafta get YOU a drink??" "cuz YOURE RIGHT THERE!!" haha..

2) seein a family of siblings coexist is always fascinatin to me. it gives me great insight into somethin i simply find amazin. and watchin em makes me better understand how esther has become who she is now. and how certain qualities have been influenced and shared by the other four members of her family. this is great stuff..

- lookin at these five disparate individuals come together to form a family often makes me wish i had a sibling. just as much as esther may never understand how i grew up, i likewise will never be able to comprehend how she grew up. its like when someone says "i treat her like my sister" or "wuts up, bro[ther]?"--those are just words to me cuz i--and a ton of other only children--dont really know wut its like. maybe one day if/when we have ten children, ill finally have a good understandin of wut it means to have/be a "brother". but even so, i often feel like ive missed out. oh well..

- so the wifey and i are finally headed out to hawaii on wed. because the good doctor has worked so hard and never got the honeymoon she so deserved, im tryin hard to make this trip as fun and as relaxing as possible. which is why im gonna make her snorkel, rock climb, kayak, bike, and hike up to an active volcano. muhahahahahahaha..

- last thought: i luv football. but i frickin-HATE fantasy football!! its like a wife--it can either make or absolutely-SHATTERINGLY-BREAK my week. grrrr..

yes, ive been brain-dead the last two weeks..

football season has begun and i am both drunk from the orgasmic euphoria and hung over from my sickenin incompetence. this quote from the sports guys column may describe me best:

This is a man who was heading to his fantasy football draft last week and told his wife, "This day is the highlight of my year," when he just got married two months ago. That went over well.

fantasy football is not merely a hobby for me--it has become my wife life..

resistance is futile..
