weather me this..

weather.jpg
hawaii sure looks nice today. and everyday..
took a look at my personalized yahoo page (which i rarely do cuz of opera) today and found the cities whose weather i chose to monitor pretty interestin. kinda says a lot about where ive been, where i wouldnt mind goin (<ahem>, esther)..

- which sorta brings me to this thought: for the past yr, ive been resolvin in my mind why ive chosen to blog. people who know me only as an acquaintance probly see me as someone who is reserved and private, no doubt due to my shy and introverted nature. even those who know me better would likely characterize me as aloof and not one very open to sharin--information has to drawn (excised) out of me; rarely is it freely given (man, i sound like a miser)..

yet, people change over time and though i certainly have, its remains peculiarly surprisin that i choose to share my days and brain farts to the general public. even more stunnin is that i do it on a site by my own name. that choice was unintentional (ive been wantin to move to a different DNS, so be forewarned)..

i dunno--i suppose it isnt THAT weird. i mean, i am after all a computer dork who spends more time typin on a keyboard than talkin w/ my wife. i am also quite a passive-aggressive person (isnt it contradictory for a passive-aggressive person to blatantly state he is such?) so a weblog would provide the perfect behind-the-curtain podium for my inner idiocy..

wutever--we re all hypocrites and liars..

- some thing else i find interestin in readin peoples blogs is the varyin content. i only a handful on regular basis and each speaks in their own voice. naw, thats not the right way to say: each writes to their own tune..

some write about their day--wut they did, wut they bought, where they went, ate, travelled, played, etc. some tell of their deep musings ("thoughts" is too shallow of a word) and wow, im shocked by the level they share..

but in either case, the reader is given a picture of the blogger. and maybe thats wut bloggin is all about: bein known..

- by the way, interestin article on bloggin tips i found on a CSS site..

- maybe people in a relationship can see more examples of this than those who are single: do you ever find yourself watchin tv shows you never even knew existed because those are the shows your s.o. watches?

at times, i am flabbergasted by wut i catch myself watchin because of esther--even when shes not there to watch!! or controllin the remote!! for example..

the gilmore girls - was watchin this last nite. and i even laffed a couple times (he admits as he shakes his head w/ great disappointment)..

ed - its supposedly over and i am <choke> fine w/ that. whenever she sees me watchin this one, esther excitedly proclaims "you LIKE this show!!" no, i dont--i just dont watchin it when theres nothin else on. yeah..

funny thing is, both are pretty similar in situation--familial-feelin shows revolvin around witty characters entrenched in their small hometowns. in other words, shows chicks dig..

damn it--am i a girl?

- of course, the above phenomenon can lead one to watch quality tv programmin--i am forever in esthers debt for havin introduced me to law & order (somethin im sure she regrets every weeknite on TNT). its been a luv affair ever since..

- so for valentines, esther got this 007 freak a spy-tacular book..

007_homer.jpg
see, even homer taped himself..
fun yet frightenin facts:

* did i ever mention i have this uncanny mutant ability to immediately identify which james bond film it is just by listenin to the first chords of the openin gun barrel logo sequence?

* also, when i was little i once videotaped myself performin each of those openin gun barrel sequences tracked to a tape i had recorded off of each flick. and yes, i said when i was little..

man, i hope i burned that tape; else i could be the next star wars kid..
