chicaaago..
so i was in chicago for several days last wk for a friends weddin. and though there was the necessary scramblin and runnin around for it--and resultin stress--i had a really good time. bein able to work on things that would mean somethin, to not hafta sit in front of a computer all day as the sun shines bright, and to just be in good company--it was almost like a mini-vacation of sorts..
as ive mentioned before, i think im becomin more of an extrovert (im losin my identity!!)--i just may enjoy meetin new people while chillin w/ the old..
- its weird how theres nearly always an air of sadness when a weddin ive been a part of comes to an end. settin aside the obvious oh-these-two-people-will-never-be-apart-again sentiment, i guess its like the end of summer camp (a really short one). you meet a group of people and in tryin to get things done for the weddin, you get to know em. then after all comes to fruition, youre done and you gotta say bye, never to see any of em again. kinda weird..
- man, i forgot how funny emotion eric is. last time i checked out that site was a couple yrs ago..
- i find it odd how we often associate locations w/ time; how, when we think of a place, we think the specific time we visited it or lived there. for instance, in the above bullet i was goin to write "in durham" as opposed to "a couple yrs ago" but realized that would only be meaningful to me and not helpful to anyone else..
i guess we really do live in a four-dimensional world..
- theres this salon article on a cult band called the minibosses, a group who perform covers of the 1980 nintendo games..
if you really wanna read the article w/o payin for it, figure it out--theres a way..
- would you believe me if i told you i couldnt remember how old i was until i read the upper right corner of this blog?
- you ever get so into a song that you cant help but listen to it overandoverandoverandover? as the song fades to a close, you just hit the back/repeat button and experience heaven all over again..
reminds me of a story, this girl once had her brother pick her up at duke from nova--a four hour drive each way. so in both directions, he listened to "torn" by natalie imbruglia w/o pause..
i think i wouldve jerked the wheel and ended it all in the first hr of the trip..
- right now, the reason by hoobastank is doin exactly that for me. hmm, i dunno why i linked to the lyrics--we all know im a music-first kinda person. after all, words are meaningless (as he writes this entry)..
- i think im takin to quite a fancy for chicago, havin visited twice in the past couple months. the first trip was very short and localized around downtown. this past one entailed a lotta drivin around, but i particularly liked drivin up and down the side of lake michigan. i never knew northwestern sat adjacent to it either..
so great, cali is the dream. is chicago then meetin halfway??
- wow, a physiological rationale to kissing..
course, they do say a dogs mouth is cleaner than our own..
hmmmm--ill be right back..
